genU is looking for Support Workers who can team up with our customers to help them unleash their full potential. You will be making a real impact by helping people with disabilities through accommodation and community engagement.

We are currently looking to fill two positions based at our Beaconsfield hub that would ideally suit someone looking for school hours working between the hours of 8.45 and 3pm. Please note that, in accordance with customer requirements, these rosters are role-specific. Details are provided below.

What you’ll do

  • Support person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals and working to achieve them;
  • Support customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting and medication administration;
  • Ensure positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
  • Administration duties and mandatory reporting

 What you’ll bring

  • Extensive experience in supporting customers with behavioural support plans;
  • Extensive experience working with challenging behaviours- essential;
  • An understanding and enthusiasm for working alongside people with disabilities;
  • Ability to manage complex or difficult situations as they arise with patience and maturity;
  • Previous experience with manual handling and medication administration;
  • Significant personal or Willingness to assist with personal care and domestic duties experience;
  • Cert III in Disability, Individual Support or higher (or working towards one) is essential;
  • A valid drivers licence and willingness to use your private vehicle (aligned with genU motor vehicle allowance rebate).

(You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)
