Hourly rate starting: $27.35 to $34.78 (plus Super plus NFP Salary Packaging)

genU is looking for Support workers who can team up with our customers to help them unleash their full potential. You will be making a real impact by helping people with disabilities through accommodation and community engagement.

We are currently recruiting for several permanent positions, with shifts covering between 7am & 7pm Monday to Sunday and potential over-night shifts.

We are looking for individuals with experience with challenging behaviors, dementia and aged customers.   We also have a cohort of younger customers looking to engage with Support Workers who have the same interests such as gaming, sport and a love for the outdoors.  

What you’ll do

• Support person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals and working to achieve them;
• Support customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting and medication administration;
• Ensure positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
• Administration duties and mandatory reporting

What you’ll bring

• Well developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships;
• Ability to follow Person Centred plans and assist people to achieve their goals and outcomes;
• An understanding and enthusiasm for working alongside people with disabilities;
• Ability to manage complex or difficult situations as they arise with patience and maturity;
• A valid drivers licence and willingness to use your private vehicle (aligned with genU motor vehicle allowance rebate).

Bonus points for

• Certificate III in disability or individual support or higher
