About the role

As a Support Worker with Activ, you will be making a real impact in the lives of others by helping people with disabilities through accommodation and community engagement. We are currently looking for an experienced female* support worker to work in accommodation in Busselton. This is a permanent position working 54 hours a fortnight including one weekend. Shifts start times range from 6:30am-8am and end between 12 noon-2pm at the latest.

A typical day as a Support Worker may look like:

  • Supporting person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals and working to achieve them
  • Joining customers in recreational activities such as swimming, dancing, bingo, horseback riding, going to the gym, bowling and more
  • Supporting customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting, medication administration and attending appointments
  • Ensuring positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
  • Administration duties and mandatory daily reports.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Live locally to Busselton and be able to work the roster pattern 
  • Have willingness to support customers of any gender by assisting with personal care (showering, toileting) and domestic duties (meal preparation, housekeeping)
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Passion for providing service and assistance and helping others live their best lives.
  • Previous experience or willingness to train in manual handling and medication administration.
  • Proven administration and computer literacy skills.
  • Cert III in Individual Support (CHC33015 or CHC33021), OR willingness to work towards the qualification.
  • A valid driver’s licence and a willingness to use your private vehicle (with rebates available).
