About the role

Activ’s timber manufacturing business produces a range of timber products such as pallets, bed bases, crates and customised orders. The team in Bunbury is experiencing a busy period of growth due to ongoing work and new contracts. To support this work, we have a new position available for an experienced general hand, ideally someone with a background in timber or production who is looking to use their skills while working with people living with disability in a supportive environment. 

This position will be offered on a permanent full time basis, working Monday to Friday, 7:24am-3:30pm, and will pay $24.98 per hour (approx. $49,500 equivalent) plus super and salary packaging options. 

 Duties include:

  • Working alongside supported employees in completing all tasks
  • Timber product manufacturing, packaging, and assembly tasks
  • Setting up wood cutting and profiling machinery to make components
  • Loading timber into machines and operating saw machines
  • Moving timber products around the warehouse and making deliveries
  • Maintaining a safe and tidy workplace

What you need:

  • Great attitude towards working with people living with disability
  • Experience in or ability to work in a busy manufacturing environment
  • Experience in or ability to ensure the safe operation of plant, tools and equipment
  • Someone who communicates well with their fellow team members
  • Current full WA driver’s licence, Heavy Rigid license desirable
