About the role

As a Support Worker with Activ in Geraldton, you will be making a real impact by helping people with disabilities through accommodation and community engagement. We are all about personalised and people-focused support, teaming up with our customers to help them unleash their full potential. We are currently accepting applications for Support Workers in Geraldton, casual rosters will be confirmed 2 weeks in advance. Shifts times may range between 6am - 10pm, including weekends and overnight sleep shifts. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate availability during school hours only. Flexible availability is required.

A typical day in the role may look like:

• Supporting person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals and working to achieve them;
• Joining customers in recreational activities such as swimming, dancing, bingo, horseback riding, going to the gym, bowling and more;
• Supporting customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting, medication administration and attending appointments;
• Ensuring positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
• Administration duties and mandatory daily reports.

The ideal candidate will: 

• Be passionate about providing service and assistance in the community;
• Have willingness to support customers of any gender by assisting with personal care (showering, toileting) and domestic duties (meal preparation, housekeeping);
• Have a full driver’s licence and be willing to their roadworthy, comprehensively insured vehicle, if required, to transport our customers to activities or appointments;
• Have good verbal and written communication skills;
• Hold a Cert III in individual Support (disability) or higher or working towards one (desirable).
